Ardmore Institute of Health is proud to partner with The Teaching Kitchen Collaborative (TKC) to address a critical gap in medical education: the lack of standardized nutrition training for future physicians. Conducted by an expert panel of medical and nutrition professionals, this study, spearheaded by TKC, outlines 36 nutrition competencies for medical students and physician trainees.

Stanford University's Farm to Table Camp Cultivates Healthy Eating Habits in Children
In the heart of Sunnyvale, California, Stanford University’s unique summer camp is fostering a love for healthy eating. In 2023, a postdoctoral research scholar at the Stanford Prevention Research Center, Linda Koh, applied for a grant through Ardmore Institute of Health (AIH) to fund the expansion of Farm to Table Camp, which is grounded in research that demonstrates that school-based programs with cooking and gardening components have potential to improve dietary intake and adoption of healthier habits. AIH was delighted to provide the funding and support campers in learning about how food is grown and how to prepare it, sustainability, and more. Click here to learn more.

Family Medicine Experience 2024 Recap
Last month, Full Plate Living, a free service of Ardmore Institute of Health (AIH), exhibited at the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Family Medicine Experience 2024 in Phoenix, where 8,000 people gathered to celebrate all things family medicine. AIH was delighted to sponsor Walk the Walk, Talk the Talk, and Heal Thyself, a culinary workshop that explored the science behind culinary medicine and the optimal food-as-medicine plan for preventing and treating most diseases and featured a live cooking demo.

Watch Natalie’s Full Plate Living Story and Easily Refer Your Patients
Natalie, a long-time member of Full Plate Living, shares that unlike other nutrition approaches, Full Plate Living can be done at home, at a restaurant with friends, or even on vacation. “It’s just so easy to do,” she says. Full Plate Living, a free service of Ardmore Institute of Health, is a research-backed nutrition program that teaches people how to add more whole, unprocessed, fiber-rich foods to the meals they are already eating.
You can easily refer your patients to Full Plate Living by including information in your after visit summary, sending them home with a prescription to learn more or a one-page informational sheet, or displaying a poster or tabletop display in your practice (we will mail them to you).
Free CME: Implementing Shared Medical Appointments Utilizing Full Plate Living
The Shared Medical Appointment (SMA) model, also known as group medical visits, has grown in popularity as a delivery strategy leveraging the power of social connection and clinical efficiency. In this CME program, you’ll learn the best practices for implementing SMAs, resources available to make the SMA delivery easier, and the Full Plate Living approach to improve nutrition and overall health. You will also be eligible to earn 2.00 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credits.
Free 5.5-Hour Accredited Online CME: "Lifestyle Medicine and Food as Medicine Essentials"
The American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) offers free CME to introduce clinicians to the therapeutic use of Lifestyle Medicine.
