Ardmore Institute of Health Announces Fall 2024 Grant Recipients

Through strategic grantmaking, Ardmore Institute of Health (AIH) collaborates with mission-aligned organizations to fund innovative projects that support AIH’s objectives of advancing Whole Person Care and Lifestyle Medicine. This fall, AIH awarded $1,581,070 across 13 projects that will help advance our vision: a future where healthy environments and lifestyles provide equitable and preferred methods to prevent, treat, and reverse chronic diseases.

Saint Francis Health System: Transforming Patient Care Through Lifestyle Medicine

Saint Francis Health System is taking a transformative approach to patient care through the implementation of a Lifestyle Medicine program, the first of its kind in Oklahoma. With grant support from Ardmore Institute of Health (AIH), Saint Francis is supporting individuals in their community to prevent, treat, and reverse chronic diseases through evidence-based lifestyle interventions.

2024 Lifestyle Medicine Conference Recap

Last month, Ardmore Institute of Health (AIH) sponsored the American College of Lifestyle Medicine’s 2024 Lifestyle Medicine Conference in Orlando, FL. Full Plate Living was proud to exhibit and host an education session, Facilitating Full Plate Living - A Free ACLM Certified Nutrition Program.

The American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) announced that Ardmore Institute of Health President and CEO Dr. Ron Stout is the recipient of the 2024 Trailblazer Award. "Under Ron Stout's visionary leadership, Ardmore Institute of Health has become a beacon of innovation in Lifestyle Medicine, empowering individuals to transform their health and well-being through sustainable, evidence-based practices," said former ACLM president, Beth Frates.

Food and Society at the Aspen Institute and Ardmore Institute of Health: Enhancing Food is Medicine in Diabetes Prevention and Management

Ardmore Institute of Health (AIH) looks forward to partnering with Food & Society at the Aspen Institute to enhance Food is Medicine in diabetes prevention and management. With grant support from AIH, Food & Society at the Aspen Institute will gather a diverse group of experts in 2025 to document critical insights and best practices to support the broad implementation of Food is Medicine into diabetes care.

Last week, Full Plate Living hosted an expert workshop with Karen Smith, a registered dietician and diabetes educator, who outlined lifestyle habits that affect blood sugar levels and how we can use them to our advantage.

Free CME: Implementing Shared Medical Appointments Utilizing Full Plate Living

Discover the power of shared medical appointments (SMA) with this AAFP credit system approved CME, offered free of charge by Ardmore Institute of Health. The HOPE Note: A Tool For Adding Integrative Health Care To A Routine Office Visit

The HOPE note consists of a set of questions to evaluate aspects of a patient’s life that facilitate or detract from healing. Building on the SOAP (subjective, objective, assessment, and plan) note, the HOPE note is a patient-guided process designed to identify the patient’s values and goals in their life and for healing. The physician’s role is to provide evidence and support to help patients meet those goals.
